This Fiber Optic Mechanical Splice, with its self-gripping clamshell design, provides unsurpassed speed when performing emergency splicing and restoration work. This fiber optic mechanical splice is designed around the popular Elastomeric Lab Splice, renowned for its quick splicing ability. For permanent fiber optic splices, a cyanoacrylate adhesive (e.g. Superglue) may be used to secure the fiber and provide additional pull strength. These versatile Mechanical Splices fit into any Fibrlok style splice tray and are affordable enough to keep a quantity handy in your tool box, truck, and so forth. The Mechanical Splice accepts 125um clad fiber, either singlemode or multimode, and has a typical loss of .2dB.
